Why does neuroscience matter for a BA?
The brain treats social threats the same as physical ones. If you don't see this, you miss half of what happens in a meeting.

fMRI studies (Lieberman, 2003) showed: when someone feels excluded from a group, the same brain regions activate as when their hand burns. For the brain, „I wasn't invited to that meeting” and „I touched a hot stove” are the same class of problem.
Default mode: threat vs. reward
The brain has two dominant states. One of „exploration” (open, curious, willing to take risks), one of „protection” (defensive, closed, focused on survival). The switch is automatic, under a second, triggered by stimuli that aren't always rational.

- Workshops — a participant in protection mode doesn't contribute genuinely. They go silent or attack others. You'll lose 30-60 min per session rehashing discussions.
- Interviews — in protection mode, people tell you „what you want to hear”, not „what's true”. Your requirements are false.
- Changes — a poorly delivered change request announcement triggers team panic. Velocity drops for weeks.
